Does it ever seem like what you desire just doesn’t materialize? Do you often feel overwhelmed and confused about where you really want to be in life? What direction you should take? How to get from where you are to where you would like to be in your life?
If you are drifting through life and are unclear about what direction you need to take for your life to be more fulfilling, or you are having a difficult time sorting through your mental clutter not knowing what you really want, here are a few simple questions you need to ask yourself in order to clarify what you really want and reveal the steps you need to take in order to accomplish these desires.
Stop and focus on YOU!
Take a few deep breaths and then think about each question for a few minutes and then write out the answer. It is amazing how much easier it will be to actually know what you want and what you feel is the necessary course of action to take get there.
This is a great little exercise to share with a spouse, friends or loved one. Not only does it help make our relationship with that person more intimate and satisfying, but it enables us to help sharpen their focus as well as ours. Not only do these questions open up a dialogue on understanding what is important to ourselves and each other, but it helps give us a clear picture of the necessary steps we need to take to get from A to B.
Imagine yourself three years from today, what will have to have happened during that three year period for you to feel happy and satisfied with your progress through life?
What are the biggest dangers or fears that you will have to overcome or deal with in order to achieve that progress?
What are the biggest opportunities that you have that you would need to focus on and capture in order to achieve those objectives?
What strengths will you need to reinforce and maximize these opportunities?
What skills and resources will you need to develop that you do not currently have, in order to capture those opportunities?
Just answering these simple questions will go a long way in ridding yourself of mental clutter and overwhelm and will go a long way in making your dreams become your reality.
