How You Should Use AHCC

AHCC is well-known for being a brilliant immune system booster. It is also brilliant at helping to keep cancer at bay. Honestly, it isn’t a surprise that you are wondering how you should be using it. Countless people are using it every single day to great effect.

Here, we want to take a look at how you should use AHCC. It is worth noting that there is no ‘guideline’ dosage. A lot of it is going to be dependent on your situation, so we have broken this page up into various sections. This way you can scan and find the one that is most relevant to you.

How is AHCC Supplied?

AHCC comes in both a capsule and a liquid form. For the purposes of this page, we are going to assume that you will be taking it in a capsule. This is because it is the most common way to take AHCC.

Preventative Therapy

Most of the AHCC usage is as a preventative therapy.

If you are taking AHCC to boost your immune system, then you should be taking around 3-grams of it per day. Some people will go as low as 1-gram per day, but we find that 3-grams is the ‘sweet spot’ for immune system boosting.

The AHCC should be taken throughout the day. Try to split up into two or three doses. You should try to take on an empty stomach to ensure the most effect. Although, it is completely fine to be taken with food if you really have to.

During Cancer Treatment

When you are going through cancer treatment, then you will want to bump that dose up to 6-grams per day. Once your treatment has ended, then you can go back down to that 3-grams mark.

If you are taking either of these drugs while being treated for cancer, then you will need to talk to your doctor. AHCC has been known to reduce the effectiveness of them:

  • Zofran
  • Zoloft

You should be taking AHCC in the same way as you would if you weren’t going through cancer treatment. This means split up into around 3 doses throughout the day. You would preferably take it on an empty stomach.

Children

There are no issues with children taking AHCC. However, if a child is going to be given a dose, then you will want to half the dosage of an adult. This applies up until their teen years. They can then start to take the ‘adult’ amount.

This means that if a child is taking the AHCC as a preventative measure, then they probably shouldn’t be using more than 1.5-grams of AHCC per day. Luckily, AHCC capsules are 500mg. This means they just need to take three of them. Preferably, one just before each meal. This means that their stomach should be empty when they are taking the capsule.

Elderly

Taking AHCC as an elderly person is going to be a little bit trickier. This is because there isn’t really a ‘set’ amount that an elderly person should be taking. The worse their immune system is, the more AHC they should be taking, up to a maximum of around 6-grams per day. So, that is 12 capsules. However, most elderly people will probably be around the 3-gram mark.

The one thing that you will need to keep an eye out for is how the AHCC is introduced to the system. Because elderly people tend to have more sensitive digestive systems, the AHCC will need to be introduced gradually. Start with around 500mg per day for a week or so, then gradually up the dose over the next couple of weeks.

If the person shows any sign of digestive trouble, then don’t ‘up’ the dosage until those issues have cleared up.

Conclusion

Honestly, using AHCC is not that difficult. For most people, 3-grams of the medication each day should be more than sufficient. Split this up over three dosages, and you will be well on the path towards having a boosted immune system and a a greater chance of keeping cancer at bay.
